Once the application is successfully installed - the user will be redirected to the application in the BigCommerce admin panel
The application is fully integrated into BigCommerce. All created gift certificates are stored in the BigCommerce server and not bound to the application
In the "Gift certificates" tab listed all gift certificates existing in the BigCommerce store. The list is going to be empty if there are no gift certificates created in store yet
This tab allows users to create/delete/edit gift certificates, export gift certificates data to a CSV file, search gift certificates
The current user's email is displayed in the left corner on the top of the start page (it will be used in history records to identify which user performed the action)
To create a new gift certificate user should click on the "Create Gift Certificate" button in the right corner at the top of the page
After clicking on the "Create Gift Certificate" button - the "Create Gift Certificate" modal appears
At this point, it is required to fill in all required form fields and press the "Save" button to create a new gift certificate. After creating a new gift certificate - the "The certificate has successfully been saved" modal appears
Click on the "Next" button will open the BigCommerce admin panel with the direct link to the created gift certificate in a new tab. At this point, it is possible to send a newly created gift certificate to the customer by clicking the corresponding button in the "Action" column
To edit an existing gift certificate it is required to find it in the gift certificates list and click the "Edit" button in the "Action" column
After clicking on the "Edit" button - the "Edit Gift Certificate" modal appears
At this point, it is required to update the gift certificate data and press the "Save" button to update the existing gift certificate. After updating a gift certificate - the "The certificate has successfully been saved" modal appears
Click on the "Next" button will open the BigCommerce admin panel with the direct link to the updated gift certificate in a new tab. At this point, it is possible to send an updated gift certificate to the customer by clicking the corresponding button in the "Action" column
To delete an existing gift certificate it is required to find it in the gift certificates list and click the "Delete" button in the "Action" column
After clicking on the "Delete" button - a confirmation pop-up appears. In case when deletion will be confirmed - the gift certificate will be deleted (this is an irreversible change)
The "History" tab listed all actions performed on gift certificates (recorded only actions performed via the gift certificates application, direct changes via BigCommerce admin panel not tracked). The list is going to be empty if there are no actions performed with gift certificates via application yet

History records are stored in our database. If an application will be deleted from the BigCommerce store - all history records will also be deleted. Still, the gift certificates will not be affected
The gift certificates application provides an export feature that allows users to export the gift certificates list and history records as CSV tables
To export data, it is required to click on the "Export to CSV" button at the bottom of the page
In case when user clicks on the "Export to CSV" button in the gift certificates tab - CSV file with gift certificates data will be downloaded
In case when user clicks on the "Export to CSV" button in the history tab - CSV file with history records data will be downloaded
The gift certificates application offers an import feature, enabling users to import gift certificates using the convenient application interface.
To import data, click the “Import CSV“ button at the bottom of the page. Import modal will appear.
Users have the option to either easily click in the upload area to upload CSV files or employ a drag-and-drop method in the upload field.
Users have the flexibility to include a maximum of 500 entries within a single file, with the option to upload an unlimited number of these files.
The maximum file size is 10Mb
The sample file can be downloaded from the modal window. We support the ability to utilize all the fields provided by the Bigcommerce API for uploading records
The following fields are required to perform the import:
- to_name
- to_email
- from_name
- from_email
- amount
It's important to note that the system provides three states during the file upload process:
Successful Completion: Upon successful file import, users receive a notification confirming that the file has been successfully imported:
Unsuccessful Completion: If the file import fails, the system immediately notifies the user of the error and provides information about the number of gift certificates that were not imported, along with an error message description:
Partial Completion: In case the file import is partial, the system similarly provides an error notification but also indicates the number of certificates that were successfully imported:
After completing the upload operation, users can close the window, and the system will automatically update the certificates.
To grant store users access to the gift certificates information in their personal accounts, it is required to open the application and activate the gift certificates widget.
After opening the application, go to the "Storefront settings" section.
Enable gift certificates widget in the "Storefront settings" section and click on the “Save” button to apply changes to storefront.
After activating the gift certificates widget, customers will be able to see the gift certificate widget on My Account page.
The gift certificates widget allows customers to search gift certificates by code.
Additionally, gift certificates widget provides customer with the ability to view Sent and Received gift certificates.
In the "Sent Certificates" section, customers will be able to view all created gift certificates, for which customer’s email addresses specified as sender.
In the "Received Certificates" section, customers will be able to view all created gift certificates, for which customer’s email addresses specified as recipient.
